MMG checkout for WooCommerce stores in Guyana

MMG Checkout for WooCommerce connects an approved MMG merchant account to a WooCommerce store. Customers choose MMG during checkout, continue through the hosted payment flow and return to the store. WooCommerce retains the order while the integration maps the verified payment response to the appropriate order status.

The current Revamped GY release is version 2.14.21. It is intended for Guyana merchants that already have, or are applying for, the MMG access required for sandbox and production use. MMG controls merchant onboarding, credentials and live approval. Revamped GY cannot issue a merchant account or bypass the provider’s acceptance process.

Requirements before setup

The store needs WordPress, WooCommerce, HTTPS and the approved MMG merchant credential package for the intended environment. PHP must provide the cryptographic support required by the merchant files. The website URL, callback URL, return behaviour and currency must be confirmed before testing.

Sandbox and production credentials must be kept separate. Private keys must not be pasted into public pages, screenshots, ordinary support messages or diagnostic exports. Store administrators should use named accounts and only the permissions required for their work.

Recommended setup and testing process

1. Request the MMG UAT credential package through the merchant onboarding process.
2. Back up the store and confirm the checkout type, callback URL and current order workflow.
3. Import or configure the sandbox credentials, then run diagnostics without publishing secrets.
4. Test a successful sandbox payment and confirm the provider transaction, WooCommerce order, order notes and customer return.
5. Test cancellation, refusal, an interrupted return and controlled payment verification for a pending order.
6. Prepare the evidence requested by MMG and wait for production approval and live credentials.
7. Activate live mode only after the merchant authorises the production change and the rollback path is ready.

Payment recovery and staff operations

A customer can close a tab, lose connectivity or return after the provider has updated the transaction. The plugin includes tools intended to help authorised staff review pending orders and verify the corresponding payment. Staff should compare the provider identifier, amount, currency and order before changing fulfilment status.

Renewal reminders create a controlled reminder and pay-link process. They are not automatic recurring billing. The merchant remains responsible for reconciliation, refund handling, customer policies and the financial records required by its organisation.

Support and compatibility

Compatibility depends on the WordPress, WooCommerce, checkout and PHP versions used by the store. Revamped GY confirms the target environment during implementation or support. A production site should be backed up before an update and checkout should be re-tested after changes to WooCommerce, the theme, cache rules or payment code.
