How to renew a .gy domain manually

Manual renewal keeps you in control of the payment method and timing. Complete it before expiry whenever possible to avoid interruption and additional recovery requirements.

Find the domain, review its registry status and confirm the displayed expiry date before taking action.

Select the renewal action

Choose Renew where available and review the renewal term, standard charge and any exceptional recovery cost.

Choose a payment method

Use card for automatic confirmation where supported or select another available method and follow its payment instructions.

Confirm the updated expiry date

After payment and registry completion, check My Domains and the confirmation email to verify that the expiry date changed.

Automatic renewal can reduce the risk of missing an expiry date, but it still depends on a valid payment method and successful payment confirmation.

Add or confirm a supported card. Use the billing area associated with the domain or recurring service.

Enable auto-renew. Turn it on for the eligible domain and confirm the next payment information.

Keep payment details current. Replace expired cards and ensure the transaction can be approved.

Watch for confirmation. Verify the payment and updated expiry date after the scheduled renewal.

When an automatic payment does not complete

Handle a failed domain renewal payment quickly

A declined card, expired card, insufficient funds or verification problem can prevent automatic renewal. Take manual action as soon as you receive an alert.

Review the alert

Review the renewal alert, expiry date and account message before taking action.

Update payment details

Replace an expired card or choose another available method before retrying the renewal.

Finish the renewal

Use the renewal action in My Domains instead of waiting for another automatic retry.

Confirm the renewal

Check that payment completed and the expiry date now shows the extended term.

Important: A failed automatic payment does not reserve the domain indefinitely. The available renewal, grace or restoration action is determined by the domain’s current registry status.

What happens when a .gy domain expires?

An expired .gy domain can move through different registry statuses. The action available in My Domains depends on its current stage, and later recovery can require additional time, verification and charges.

How do I renew a .gy domain manually?

Sign in to Revamped GY, open My Domains, choose the domain, select the available renewal action, review the term and total, then complete checkout using a supported payment method.

Can a .gy domain renew automatically?

Yes. Eligible domains can use card-based automatic renewal. Auto-renew must be enabled, a valid supported card must remain available and the account must be able to complete the scheduled payment.

What is the standard .gy renewal price?

The current standard .gy domain renewal price is GYD $6,500 per year. Redemption, restoration, premium or other exceptional registry charges are separate and are shown before payment when applicable.

What happens if an automatic renewal payment fails?

The account receives a payment or renewal alert where available. Update the card or complete a manual renewal promptly. A failed automatic payment does not guarantee that the domain will remain recoverable indefinitely.

Can I renew an expired .gy domain?

An expired domain may remain renewable during the status or grace period shown in My Domains. Complete the renewal as soon as possible because service interruption or additional recovery requirements can apply.

What is redemption restoration?

Redemption is a later recovery stage after ordinary renewal has passed. Restoration may require an additional registry action and charge. Recovery is not guaranteed until the registry confirms completion.

Will Revamped GY remind me before my domain expires?

Renewal and expiry reminders are sent according to the account and service notification settings. You should still monitor the expiry date and next payment information in My Domains.

Where can I see my domain renewal payments?

Open the account billing or order history to review renewal orders, payment status and available receipts. My Domains also shows the domain expiry and renewal controls.

Can I renew .co.gy and other supported extensions?

Yes. Revamped GY supports renewal management for eligible .gy, .co.gy, .com.gy, .net.gy, .org.gy and .edu.gy domains managed through the account.
